This giant insect takes its primary inspiration from Praying Mantises and Hornets.
I wanted to make a dangerous and agile-looking insect that you would not want to be going up against. I wanted to take the most aggressive shapes I saw in predatory insects and combine them into an ultimate insect.
The high poly was sculpted in Z-brush, low poly, and UVs done in Maya, baked and textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Marmoset. Photoshop was used to touch up textures and for the initial sketches.
It has 24420 tris and is textured on a single 2048 texture set
